Compass School – East Lothian

Compass school required extra covered outdoor space during the pandemic to aid their social distancing for pupils effort. We supplied a 9-meter x 9-meter frame tent which as you will see from the images below, lent itself to a variety of uses, including a theatre for the school play. Adding some lighting and lining to a marquee can transform the use, look and functionality.

9m x 24m Wedding Frame Tent Marquee

As wedding tents go, this was quite a long marquee, due to social distancing, this July 2021 couple required a larger covered space for fewer guests. Two sides of the marquee have our full-size clear sides which are removable should the weather allow. It also has our redwood hardwood flooring which looks splendid in the sunlight.

New Century Wedding Marquees From Around Scotland

A selection of New Century Wedding Marquees from Fife, East Lothian, Northumberland, and Glasgow. These tents were erected for end of July weddings. There are 40 ft x 40 ft marquees. 40 ft x 80 ft marquees and 40 ft x 120 ft marquees, all with our redwood hardwood flooring, separate catering marquees which are used by caterers as a temporary kitchen, food preparation and area from which to serve food. Couples seem to be liking our full size clear walls, some opting to have these clear walls on 3 sides, this allows for much more light to enter the marquee and also opens up many new decorating ideas to creative-minded weddings planners. They were also supplied with generators to power the lighting and PA system. For generator hire for wedding marquees, we use GGS Generators exclusively, as George’s service and support are legendary in the industry. Fire extinguishers are also an important requirement when hiring a marquee. You are welcome to supply your own, or you can add them to your requirements when asking for a quotation.

What have Myreton Marquee Hire been up to?

2020 was a disaster for the events industry. As numbers of people allowed to attend events dropped in March and April, we set about rescheduling existing bookings later in the year and 2021.

Finding availability at venues across the country and working with toilet hire companies, generator hire, caterers and many unhappy couples, we managed to find new dates for everyone.

Some of our clients whom we originally changed dates for to later in 2020 or early 2021 have had to replan their events a 2nd or 3rd time as the ban on events continues to be extended.

We have found that our flexible approach has worked well and our understanding customers are satisfied that Myreton continues to do everything possible to accommodate them in these difficult times.

Track and Trace – NHS Testing Centres

The lads worked hard to set-up the NHS Track and Trace Paisley Testing Center in record time

Early in the pandemic, we started work on Scotland’s first drive-through Covid-19 testing centre at Glasgow Airport’s long-stay car park, with Edinburgh the following week and Aberdeen two weeks later.

Since then the guys have been busy erecting tents at testing centres across the length and breadth of the country and even some in the North of England.

Today we were in Paisley in Renfrewshire, working on the latest site to go live at Bridge Street Car Park in the Town Centre. In freezing temperatures the team were up against the clock and the guys managed to finish work just in time as the NHS Testing Centre opened its doors a couple of hours later at 2 pm.

All of the employees here at Myreton Marquee Hire are very proud to be able to assist the Scottish Government in fighting this pandemic and hopefully, our small contribution to this effort can see an end to this disruption to our lives sometime soon.

Stay safe!

summer agricultural show marquee hire in ScotlandAs spring arrives and sunshine finally starts to break through the grey skies, communities and sports associations across Scotland are starting to prepare for a busy season of outdoor events. Whether your organisation is hosting an agricultural show or a bustling community gala day or it is your town’s Highland games, it’s never been easier to accommodate all of your activities and visitors with a wide range of flexible and adaptable temporary structures. At Myreton Marquees, we have decades of experience in providing an efficient and reliable marquee hire service throughout Scotland that is perfectly tailored to suit your event’s specific needs.

Helping to showcase the best of the agricultural community

marquee hire for charity event in ScotlandIn recent years, Myreton Marquees has been thrilled to supply an extensive array of marquees for numerous agricultural shows across Scotland. Most recently, we’ve provided tenting solutions in a range of sizes for last year’s busy Haddington and Biggar Shows. With our broad range of customisable options, it was quick and easy to configure a central tent adjacent to the equestrian events so that the spectators could sit down and grab a bite to eat. The event organisers also opted for a marquee design with several different openings to enable access from all directions and ease the flow of traffic in the grounds.

At Myreton Marquees, our experienced team is always available to advise on the kinds of features that would best suit your event and its specific needs when it comes to marquee hire. Scotland has numerous agricultural shows and Highland games throughout the summer and we have provided tenting solutions for ones ranging from Edinburgh and Stirling to Fife and Lanarkshire. We’ve found that a marquee is not just ideal for seating at these events, but also for storing equipment and feed so that it can be easily accessed.

Providing the perfect backdrop for summer sports

You might have spotted a marquee at a sports game before, but they are also ideal for outdoor events such as polo. Last year, our team designed and supplied all of the temporary structures for the St Andrews University Polo Club during their summer matches. Marquee hire for summer polo event in St Andrews, ScotlandThe club opted for a large marquee with clear arched windows, which allowed for light to flood the interior and seamlessly integrate the indoors with the outside. The main tent also featured a pop of colour with bold yellow stripes. With such a wide range of options, our marquees are perfectly suited to adding some flair or team spirit to your sporting event.

As we provide such a wide range of sizes at Myreton Marquees, we were also able to provide the St Andrews University Polo Club with a series of smaller tents along the side of the pitch, as well as a marquee with two open sides for the spectators to enjoy maximum easy access when purchasing merchandise and food. These intuitive designs are ideal for ensuring that your event flows as smoothly as possible.

Facilitating a fun day out for all of the family

At Myreton Marquees, we don’t just provide tenting services for sporting and agricultural events, but also supply marquees for a wide array of gala days, village fetes, and street parties. At the Haddington Show, we provided a range of solutions, including a horse trials at an agricultural show with marquee in the backgrounddesignated children’s tent for activities such as face painting and animal handling. The marquee offered room for multiple activities whilst also ensuring that parents could keep an eye on their children in a designated space. The event also featured a marquee for food and drink, which was expansive enough for multiple vendors and a cappuccino bar, as well as a produce and craft tent that featured floral competitions and displays from local artisans.

If your organisation requires a marquee, Scotland based Myreton marquee hire can ensure that your visitors are perfectly accommodated throughout the upcoming season. Contact us for more information about our range of products and to find out how our team can help you make the most of your event.
